Happy Friday Everyone! Hope you all have a fun weekend planned. Today’s Take Better Photos post is not so much a tip as a download that you can take with you wherever you go to help you remember all the technical photography stuff you need to know to shoot in manual mode. When I was learning to shoot in manual mode, it was hard to remember all the different terms and numbers and what they meant. I created this to be a visual reference for you to look at to remember all that stuff!
First is a download that can be saved to your iPhone so you can take it with you EVERYWHERE! Just download the file and save it to your phone. You can also email yourself to get it on your phone that way.
Next, is a download that you can have printed. Included in this one is a gray file that you can print as the back to help you correct your white balance or for exposure. Just download the files, unzip them and print!
I hope you enjoy this little cheat sheet! If you have questions, ask them in the comments or email me!

Hello! I just tried to open your cheat sheet to print out and it wouldn’t open on my computer. Would you be able to e.mail the sheet for me? If you can help, thank you so much! I have been taking my camera off manual thanks to you this last week and I am really pleased with the results. Here’s the last shoot I did in manual but still using auto-focus:

I still have so much to work out but thank you for getting me started!

I would guess that it would. It is just a .png file. I don’t have one to check it out, so if you do this let me know!

I LOVE all your photography tips! My question for you…(this may be an entire post) When considering the big 3 of photography, which setting do you start with? Do you set your ISO first and then make the other adjustments? Do you start with Aperture?

Thanks Gayle! It never hurts to have a cheat sheet when your on the run and your mind draws a blank! As soon as the printer is hooked back up (middle of a move), it’ll be printed!

What a neat idea! Thank you so much for sharing it. I think I have something down and then I totally draw a blank. I’m going to download and print now. Thanks again!
(Whoa… a comment I just posted flipped out. Delete this one if two of me appears.)
Thank you so much for putting this together! This is FABULOUS! My cheat sheet is printing out as we speak… destined for the camera bag. Perfect!
